Hey all! Welcome to that intimate part in my mind where I get to talk completely unfiltered, untethered, and unhinged lol...This is my first, EVER, blog post. So, please excuse me while I feel around, break walls down, and completely learn this new space. But also, truly and honestly, Welcome. However you got here, I'm glad you're here now, and I hope you decide to continue on this Journey to the Tacos with me!
Now, I do feel like I should do a whole introductory blog post on why I’m even starting this blog and a little intro to who I am. But, that ain't this! lol
Get to the Tacos!

Okay so, disclaimer, this is not my first time having Taqueria Downtown. I actually worked in Jersey City for over 5 years now and ate many late night meals. Majority of which came from Taqueria Downtown. So, I was aware of the quality of food. I personally loved their chicken enchiladas de suiza (Green sauce all day) and have tried a couple of their other meals. However, I have NEVER tried their Margaritas! In all my years I have never visited their actual storefront until I took this Journey to the Tacos. (I’ll be saying that a lot throughout these post) ((Lowkey, I feel like that phrase needs the Spongebob treatment haha I’ll add a pic below))

Long story short…I still haven’t tried their margaritas lol. Only reason this is the name of the post is because when I posted on my instagram, @softshells_Hardfalls about the tacos…all of the dms I received were about their margaritas lol. So, clearly I need to do a spin-off already, called Soft Shells Hard Falls: Journey to the Margaritas. (Highkey might actually do that)
Did you talk about the Tacos yet!
Okay! Anyone who’s actually here for a taco review. Let’s get to it. I think Taqueria Downtown has great tacos! I tried the chorizo, pork, and ground beef (they didn’t have chicken…Whaaat) however, I was not disappointed. Each taco is unique and paired with different ingredients/ toppings to compliment the specific meat.

They are flavorful! And they definitely come looking like street tacos for real. Dressed in a brown paper bag with the grease seeping through the bottom (looking like the Philly Cheesesteak from that episode of Fresh Prince) so you know it’s Authentic.
I’ve spent money here before and I will continue to! Just maybe next time, I’ll also buy a margarita lol.
